The starting point for the sculptural work by Siv Bugge Vatne is historical sources and science. A play with gravity and balance is typical for her sculptures. She describes her process as arranging materials and words until they establish an unfixed space of poetry and meaning, inciting slippages between the senses and the cognition. Bugge Vatnes works are represented in several public projects and collections such as KUBE, Punkt Ø, University of Stavanger and Public Art Agency Sweden. She lives and works in Oslo.

Siv Bugge Vatne arbeider med skulpturer og objekter hvor utgangspunktet er historiske kilder og vitenskap. Et spill med tyngde og balanse er typisk i det skulpturelle uttrykket. Motivasjonen bak verkene er å stable materialer og ord til de sammen strekker ut et poetisk og meningsbærende rom.  Tidligere verk er representert i flere samlinger som Kunstmuseet KUBE, Punkt Ø og Statens Konstråd (Sverige). Siv Bugge Vatne er født og oppvokst i Molde, bor og jobber i Oslo.
